How exciting! Thanks to the generosity of our community we were able to award a graduating senior from each of the five Stafford County High Schools and a football player from Region 5A North with one of our 6 – $1,000 scholarships for college.
Students who are following their educational/career dreams, who are good leaders, who face adversity with strength and grace, and who are well-rounded scholar-athletes are the greatest interest to us. This scholarship is for student-athletes, who have shown high level of academic achievement, minimum GPA of 3.6 while participating in time-demanding varsity athletics.
We would like to thank all the students who applied for scholarships and would like to encourage them to continue their hard work and efforts as they prepare to embark on the next leg of their journey!
The winners of these scholarships demonstrate the characteristics coaches often used when describing AJ: perseverance, leadership, determination and compassion. These student-athletes have the ability to identify their own weaknesses and/or adversities and took steps to overcome them.
