What a crazy year 2020 was! Even during a Global Pandemic, the SlyeStrong#6 Foundation was able to honor and recognize students who “continue to do the right thing” with scholarship money to help continue their education.

A committee of volunteers serves to review scholarship applications and select a student-athlete who best represents the qualities of perseverance, leadership, humility, compassion and character. A deserving senior in each of our five Stafford County High Schools earned a $2,000 SlyeStrong#6 Student-Athlete scholarship.  These particular scholarships recognize students who simultaneously juggle the challenges of academics and athletics while also serving as leaders and role models for other young people.

Our sixth scholarship, the AJ Slye Memorial Scholarship, recognizes a deserving senior from Stafford County, Spotsylvania County, and Fredericksburg City Public Schools who had been immediately impacted by cancer (self, parent, or sibling).  These students’ stories of how they rose above the cancer that had greatly impacted their lives were touching and inspiring to all members of our selection committee.

Thank you to all the applicants, and we wish everyone the best as they continue to do great things!
