Although Felicity dealt with a devastating diagnosis of cancer within her immediate family, her strong and loving character never wavered. She was a source of support, prayer and encouragement while demonstrating the responsibility and dedication to her schooling. Inspired by the cancer diagnosis that affected her family, she began researching carcinogens in drinking water and received a grant from the Gates Foundation to design and build her own solar-powered water filter to purify water from potential cancer-causing chemicals in ponds and lakes. Felicity, we are proud of you and hope that you will continue on this path of service as you move into the next chapter of your life. She will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall.
