We were able to successfully finish the collection part of our 2020 SlyeStrong#6 Foundation Book Drive before the “World Stopped” due to the COVID-19 Virus Pandemic. Thanks to the generous support of our community, we were able to collect approximately 1700 new and gently used children’s books, coloring books, crayons, puzzles, games, and bubbles to once again distribute to our local hospitals and service organizations. These wonderful donations helped to give members of our community something to smile about in the face of hardship and trauma. We would like to say thank you to: North Stafford High School, Mt. Ararat Church, Rejuvalase Med Spa, MBH Settlement, Jabberwocky Children’s Books and Toys, Fort, Bodyworks Gym, Fredericksburg Orthopaedic Associates, and CRRL Howell, Porter, and Fredericksburg branches for being collection points throughout our community. We would also like to give a special thank you to Rachel Bressler for organizing a fundraiser through Usborne Books & More, who donated 30 Cuddle Bear book and stuffed animal sets in honoring Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.
The SlyeStrong #6 Foundation exists to provide a way for our community to come together and help support each other in times of need. Our community proved once again that together we CAN make a difference.
